Hello, I’m starting a fashion (retail) business, and on creating the logo for it I found a statue being sold on Alibaba.com (China region) of a panther and inspired by it decided to use this for my logo, business. I have a a name that is legally under my name, but for the panther I want to use like Nike uses the tick. I have provided the original photo of panther statue below and my logo next to it. My question is it legal to do so? And am I able to trademark this in the future wether internationally or nationally only?...if I can’t use what can I do to not infringe copyright or being sued? Thank you!

You must be careful with intellectual property when using the panther statue image for your logo. Even if the statue is being sold on Alibaba, it doesn’t mean you have the right to use its likeness as your logo.

I just saw your post, and I can't help but wonder: using an image for a logo can be a great idea to make it more memorable and give it personality. Images can tell a story about your brand that words can't capture. But, it’s essential to keep things simple—too much going on can make the logo hard to recognize or reproduce in smaller sizes. You want it to look good on everything from a business card to a billboard. Also, make sure the image matches your brand's vibe and values. If you're unsure where to start, it might help to talk to a pro like https://bluecollarmarketing.ca/contractor-web-design/.
