The spot I parked was on a paved area separated from the road by a gutter. The paved area had cars parked before my spot. It appears to be a deliberately designed parking area, separate from the road so that traffic is not impeded (refer attached photo).
In my opinion the spot was incorrectly marked as the unbroken yellow line which should be marked on the edge of the road was taken across the gutter and marked at the edge of the paved area.
Also, the intention of a "No Stopping" area is to prevent obstruction to traffic or for safety, neither of which seem applicable in this case.
Do I have a case to challenge the parking ticket based on incorrect marking?
