I'm one of four owners in a block of four apartments. One of the other owners has installed shade cloth to the exterior of the building structure outside her back door, this area is common property and not on her title. She has done this without consultation or permission from the Owners Committee which is clearly a breach of OC Model rules. The shade cloth is not consistent with the style and materials of the building. We have asked her to remove it, however if she refuses (which is highly likely as it's not the 1st time she's done something like this), are we (the other three owners) within our rights to either remove it ourselves, or have it taken down professionally and charge her for the cost, along with any repairs to the wooden railings? She has just put the property on the market for sale in late November, so we need to action this asap as going to VCAT is not an option within this short time frame. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
