Hi, I received this morning an insurance claim for an accident that happened in March, when I was in a traffic jam and hit the bumper bar of the person in front of me. I took a picture of the damage. The bumper bar was pretty damaged, but not much more. I haven't had any news since then, and the one text I sent to the driver, after the accident, never got a reply.
The claim asks me to pay $20K. The letter of Demand of the Insurer says I have 2 weeks to pay from today.
I only have CTP, so not properly insured.
The car is a Lexus. There is a detailed quote but they changed 43 parts, all costing ridiculous amounts.
And trying to bill me $6K for 99 days of "car rental".
Could you anyone help me with the matter?
Thanks a lot.

Depressing...
Maybe.
But also a situation entirely of your own making.
Basically, you gambled the false economy
of saving the insurance premium
against your being personally liable in the even of an accident,
and you lost.
