luckily she is paddock sound and has a beautiful temperament. We really want to keep her and will probably breed with her

@SavannahB - Yes, on the basis that you want to keep the horse, either keep the horse as-is or attempt to negotiate a partial refund from the seller. All the best.

Sounds like a good plan. The horse is lucky to have found you :). There's some seriously unscrupulous sellers out there. A tip for next time - make sure you get your own vet check. Include a blood test that will show if they have any anti inflammatory or pain medication in their system. If it's a regional area I'd get a vet from the next town over. If people are selling as a business that can be a lot of return business for the vet. Obviously the majority of vets are honest but if you're spending thousands of dollars on an horse you wish to ride for years to come it's worth being careful. Most horse people have made this mistake at least once so don't feel silly. Just a good excuse to breed some adorable foals, good luck.
