Last court appearance was Dec 19, where family are still waiting for family report dates to be given. Applicant father did not attend. Father has history of non attendance. Respondent mother asked for final orders be made in his absence (matter has been before the courts for several years, currently a no contact injunction which has been in place for 1.5 years, children are 14 and 15 years old), father has long history of drug abuse and violence, has failed multiple hair follicle tests and urinalysis. Parties informed it could be a further 12 months before family report be given, matter adjourned until October 2020, however judge has agreed for mention in April, advised mother if she was seeking exparte orders to seek advice from a lawyer. Both parents were self represented, however father has received legal aid and filed an address of service to his solicitor. And ideas of why the judge would suggest this? Is there proper procedure when asking for exparte orders?

When did the Father's lawyer file the NOAS?

Was it recent? If so I would suggest your your hopes of an Ex-Parte have just gone out the window.

Mother already has the child 100% and no contact at all for the Father.
I take it the only Orders you would be seeking are Trial dates to be set and the matter finalised?
