The second step is rarely true. Most times it is another aggrieved party causing the waste, not the lawyer.
Can some people DIY? Yes. Can others? No. Are they wiser after the event? Probably. Can they watch and say, 'I could have done that'? Yes, but they'd be lying to themselves because if they'd known that at the start they wouldn't have needed a lawyer in the first place. It is not cheap becoming and staying lawyer.
