I have been a beneficiary in my estranged fathers will. 5 of his 6 children were in the will. He has listed the children in order but he has put mine as a different surname but the correct initials. All the other beneficiaries have agreed it is in fact me but now I have received a bank cheque in the other name on the will. What can I do?

Does the bank cheque have either of the following?:
- The words 'account payee only'; or
- The words 'or bearer' deleted.

If not, just bank it. If it does then the bank may refuse to deposit it to an account which does not match the named payee.
