I was caught shoplifting 7 months age in UAE care four in a mall. They took me to a room, took a copy of my licences and made me sign a paper saying if I did it again they will call the cops. No pictures were taken. So far nothing has happened.

Later after like 7 months, I sneaked into 2 movie theater in same mall without paying. First one I got into 4dx and I realised I was alone. Later I saw a guy recording. He just watched the screen and chairs then he went out. When the first movie finished, I watched the second movie. During that period, nothing happened. I also went out to buy some food then came back but no one talked to me.

When I finished the second movie I went out and it was after midnight. I saw one security was beside the electric staircase and voices were coming from his receiver tool that they communicated in. I got scared that he would stop me but he did not then I went down the stairs and saw another security with his receiver. I continued walking freely till I got to the gates and went out without anyone of them following me or talking to me.

1- Is there a probability that they identified me from care four record since they are both in same mall and did not even talked to me but they will call the cops or make a police file after I had left?

2- How far can my first shoplifting go in the UAE and I applied for a UK visa or any other countries.. Will these embassies know that I was caught shoplifting in care four?

Thanks

Hi Ahmad,

I think you are being a bit paranoid. If they thought you had done something wrong in the picture theatre they probably would have stopped you. Probably best not to do anything that might get you in trouble.

As far as the embassies knowing about the shoplifting, I'm not sure of the UAE laws but it sounds like they let you off with a warning. They took a copy of your drivers licence so if they catch you again they can prove its you. I think you are safe. Don't jeopardise your chances of future travel.

thank you very much for the reply.. i really want ur help cus i connot stop thinking about the questions that i will tell u in this reply..
I am not afraid if they caught me for the second time and they were able to recognise me with my driving license. Cus i will never put my self in this situation again. I know what i did was very wrong i really regret it.. i am afraid what carefour security will do with my documents in future even if i did not steel again. How can i make sure it doesnt appear in other empassies and my visa will not get refused in any country due to this reason for example Europe cus i know they r very strict. Remiding that no cops were called they just gave me a warning paper. Do u think i shall go back to them and apologies to security manager and ask him about if it appears to embassies?.
Second question is do they have camera recognition face that they send my info to all shopping malls? Keeping that they did not take any photo when they brought me. Cus i dont like securities any where all the time looking at me thinking i am a real theft. It was one time and i regret it. Can i solve all this issues with carefour security manager?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Ahmad,
I'm not sure you can do anything about retrieving the documents. Contacting the security manager could aggravate the problem. Let it go! they didn't press charges therefore they cant prove in a court of law that you have committed an offence. There are people all over the world that have to live with the consequence of their actions. In Australia criminal offences can stay with you for 10 years or more and unfortunately people need to live with it. If it ever comes up in the future maybe you would need to say I was just young and stupid. But for now I cant see any issue for you. You need to accept it and move on.

Hi lance thanks for reply..
I can let it go but first i wanna make sure that other embassies doesn't know about it cus it is very simple mistake.. and it is unfair to get redused a visa cus of what happened... i dont want to retrieve my documents.. i am thinking asking the security manager if embassies know about it?.. cus usually in Europe visas they ask have u ever committed a crime with no court was involved.. what do u think?

I would really appreciate ur help..

Thanks..

Up to you Ahmad. But sometimes it better to just leave it alone, asking the manager could just aggravate things further.
