Hi all, had a trial in mid January, and still waiting on a judgement. Second family trial - first in 2015 we had judgement within 7 weeks.
I'm in WA - I keep checking the daily court list and there are barely any magistrates on each day. Is there a backlog of work that any one knows of?
Proposed orders are time critical with specific dates (long story - we requested extended leave from orders for 3 months to travel Australia. SEW recommended the trip as a good idea as well). It was discussed in trial that employers have already organised temp staff for partners and my leave, as well as real estate vacate date set). Reason the date is close is because OP managed to adjourn part heard from March last year, which dragged it out twice more.
Why would a magistrate delay releasing the judgement? Starting to freak out!!

Everywhere is jammed up, all the time.

The court gives no mind to your personal convenience.

That said, you might (very, very might) have a slim (very, very slim)
chance at getting it moved up.
That's because of the prospective (financial, mostly)
impact of further delay on third parties.

You would need the advice of a lawyer in regard to
the prospects of success of such an application in your case.
