Hi, trying to help my neighbour in this situation please. I understand trespass is a civil matter here.
He is estranged from his son, and about two years ago he had a solicitor friend tell him what to write on some sort of trespass letter telling his son to keep off the property and away from places he works etc. The letter was not from the solicitor, but he told him what to write.
His son's girlfriend has now admitted aciddentally there has been several occasions they went to the house when his father wasn't there (son's girlfriend has said this in writing). No idea why they went there.
Neighbour wants to know what to do next - is it too late because he has only found out now that the son had been there in the past months/year? Does trespass need to be acted on immediately? Or is the timing irrelevant because he has a written admission now.
The aim will be to try a more formal/legal way of stopping him if still possible
Thanks everyone.
