I've actually resigned because of toxic leadership. When I told my boss that I was resigning and moving to a new job, he immediately called my new potential employer (who he knows personally) to try to dissuade him (vehemently) from hiring me. Is this even legal?

Thankfully, its unlikely that I'll lose the new job, but I'm asking whether this is legal to help me decide whether to pursue this, for the sake of the other staff.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Just to be clear, when you say 'No' did you mean "No, it's not legal behaviour" or did you mean something else? Can you be more specific, for example, why it's illegal or what area of law it contravenes? Thanks.
