Hi there, i am not really sure how to go about this, but i will give it a shot and see if anyone here can help, however i do think that i already know what the answer is going to be.
I know someone who was the cinematographer for a new TV Commercial that was made by a production company for the owners of a new product that is going to be released, but the Commercial has not been released yet by the product owners or the production company who made the actual Commercial.
This person wanted to submit the Commercial to an organization for an Award for the cinematography work done on this Commercial, but he/she has not notified the owners of the TV Commercial or the production company of their intention, and therefore has no permission to do so, which to me is very illegal, and i have warned this person not to do it.
Am i correct (i am 100% sure that i am)
