I am currently paying the tenant to stay in one of the bedrooms of the house he is renting. My monthly rent includes my share of the internet, power, gas and water. The house is in Victoria. The tenant has just informed me that he wants me to move out because my expectations of how clean the house should be is far higher than his. We only have a verbal agreement that does not include how long I can rent the room for (i.e. periodic agreement ). To date I have paid my full rent as agreed.
1. What is the minimum notice period the tenant must give me?
2. Does the tenant need to issue me an official termination notice?

1. Depends on your agreement when you moved in. Negotiate a move out date, and give yourself flexibility in case you find somewhere to live earlier than you expected.
2. No.
