Hi all, i have had orders made in my favour in the Magistrates Industrial Division as my ex employer didn't file a response. i have sent him a letter of demand for payment with a copy of the orders and asked for payment within 7 days as advised by Fairwork. My question is can the sheriff seize items owned by either of the directors to recover the money owed? The employer company is listed as XXXX pty ltd as trustee for the XXXXX family trust trading a xxxxxxx. The were a new company that fell behind owing 2 weeks wages, car allowance etc plus didn't give me my holiday pay or 2 weeks notice after terminating my employment.

They can once you get court orders authorising them to do so.

Might be easier recovering money by seeing if you can get a court order garnishing their bank account instead of goods.
