Hello, I am seeking information regarding a granny flat on my property. I am separating yet remaining in the house with my wife. We bought the home in 2017 when it had a garage. We then removed it and then built a granny flat which at my mother-in-law's expense cost built for $110K after we spent $665K on the home. Assuming we get divorced, how is the granny flat sorted out in the final divorce? Do we jointly pay my mother in law for the cost of the flat, which if sell the property for $1M or does that fall to my wife? I view it as my wife's issue.
