My friend bought a property without a building or termite inspection and has now found out it is infested with termites rather badly. Does he have any remedies at all under Vic property law?

He is strapped for cash and doesn't know how he is going to fix the house.

Does it matter where the property was bought? Or are the real estate agents responsible or his conveyancer? Is there any help for him at all?

Does it matter where the property was bought?

Potentially yes if not in Victoria.

Can't see his conveyancer being responsible. The vendor or their agent may be responsible if they misrepresented the property. This is a fairly high hurdle to overcome as property purchases in Victoria are generally 'buyer beware'. He may need to see a lawyer.
