NSW P1 on the spot suspension and demerit points

Late March, I was booked for speeding 45+KM/h over the posted speed limit. The officer suspended my P1 license on the spot for 6 months and gave me 6 demerit points. Having spoken to some people with no relevant experience, they seem to think once I serve my 6-month suspension, I will serve another suspension due to the 6/4 demerit points I incurred. Is this the case? Or is the original suspension due to the demerit points?

don't take people's words directly each person will say from their own circumstances which may be correct to them or they may say what they heard. You have several options: either go to the road rules or talk to RMS or a lawyer who specialises in traffic cases,
