Hello

My 63 year old mother is dealing with an online dating site that is claiming she owes them money and threatening debt recovery action.

The site has terrible reviews and looks like a scam. She emailed them in October 2018 requesting to cancel her membership.

Her credit card was charged again in April 2019 and she put in a claim with the bank who reversed the charge. The dating site emailed her demanding payment of $299 + $17 late fee.

Our concern is paying the amount just means they have credit card details again. I do not trust them.

What would be your advice?

Thanks

If it was me, I'd not pay. Make sure your mother keeps a copy of the cancellation she sent to them.

Otherwise, read the terms and conditions of the website.

Could you share a link to this website, so I know they are scammers?
