NSW Notice to withdraw child from daycare

Hi
I sent an email informing my childcare centre that my daughter will not be returning to daycare. I gave 2 weeks notice.
The reply said I need to pay until the end of the year. I needed to give notice by September. Does this seem legal?

You did not make any mention of the contract you signed in the first place to get your child placed into this daycare? If it is in that contract, it is likely to be legal - you agreed to those terms.
