Hi,

I have court orders in place that my children must see their dad half of school holidays and every second weekend except, when the child turns 14 they can choose one weekend out of the month to stay home with me but I must email the father by 5pm the Wednesday before they go on the Friday. I emailed my ex husband at 7pm instead of 5pm. Because I was 2 hours out of the deadline he has told me our son must still go. My son is 17. I don’t know what his rights are to refuse going as it was my mistake and not my sons.

Your son has no rights. He is a child. You should be sending him.
But trying to find a compromise is best...
That said, if the kid refuses to go, dad can take you to court, but at 17 it is likely the kid will turn 18 before it gets to court and if he doesn't it is possible the judge will change the orders so the kid doesn't have to go...
