I left my permanent, part-time position at a popular retail company because my manager refused my request for compassionate leave.
My grandmother was nearing the end of her life, so I requested a 3-hour shift cover to spend time with her before she passed away.
It's frustrating that resigning was my only recourse to be with my grandmother.
Despite having a contract that includes compassionate leave, my manager showed no empathy.
Even after resigning, she remained unsympathetic.
Interestingly, shortly after I notified both my regional and manager via email of my immediate resignation and the reason behind it, my manager texted me,
urging me not to resign and offering the 3 hours off I had originally requested.
Now, I'm concerned because I never downloaded a copy of my contract when I signed it online, leaving me without a copy.
Can I request a copy, and can they deny its existence?
(For context, I only held the position for 6 weeks}
Advice please.....

Advice is to go back to work if you want the job back.

Yes, they should give you a copy of the contract.

I don't want the job back, the manager attitude is disgusting and I do not want to work with her.
Can I take the matter further?
