VIC leaving tendency before 28 days notice

I have my rent paid at least 2 months in advance, so have a lot in rent acrural am living month to month not on a lease.
I gave notice to vacate, giving the landlord 30 days notice, then left before the 28 days was up, is he entitled to keep the rent acrural for the whole 30 days or am i entitled to a refund of some of it?

I asked, they refused, I have been trying to get my rental acrural back form them for over a month now, the landlord keeps trying to take money from it for 'repairs' and other things, so does the real estate, neither one mention taking it out of the bond from where it is meant to come from
