My partner and I have been approached by a few people in the small town we live in. They have said they have heard that our recently evicted ex neighbour has been telling people that we have a 'meth lab' and that our landlord (who recently evicted her) is the 'big king pin' of it all.
My partner and I feel since these rumors were spread, that he's been treated differently by people in town.

We've NEVER had any problems with police until our landlord took her to court to get her evicted. Now the police are making their presence known, even pulling over anyone who comes to visit us.
I do have footage of two of the police officers driving past our house 6 times in a matter of minutes. Even pulling up on the footpath in front of our house twice and driving really slowly while looking at us. Once they saw I was recording they left.

I've had enough and want to take action against her. Possibly lodge a complaint against this one police officer.

Is this grounds for defamation?

Thank you

Yes. There's a few things to work through so I recommend seeing a lawyer and having a concerns notice written to the ex-neighbour demanding, amongst other things, a written apology.
