My boyfriend is from Chile and wants to return to Australia to work. He is a bicycle mechanic / technician. Is this on the list for approved sponsorship for a 457 visa?

Ok, thanks. I spoke to a manager of a bicycle shop her in sth Melb and he said that he does sponsor overseas people. I'm wondering what else a mechanic would be described as. Would a trades technician cover it?
Unless your shop manager is also a lawyer or a Registered Migration Agent,
then they are not somebody who can give you reliable advice,
even about what they (might think) they did themselves.
Bicycle Mechanic is the lowest level (Level 5) on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations.
There are many lawyers in Melbourne who are also RMAs.
He would do best to engage one of them (which can be done from overseas).
