Hey all, i was pulled over for driving a prohibited vehicle (p plates), however it was registered in a company name and I was driving it for my employer. The police didn’t understand this and i recieved a fine for the offence. However, the officer had reassured me that i would not incur demerit points but when I received the fine the demerit points were listed anyway. Do I try take this to court or would I just pay the fine. I’m sure there would be evidence of the officer saying that to me.

Makes no difference. If an offence carries demerit points then the police and the court cannot remove them. It is automatically imposed by VicRoads.
