Ok so, I got a tough one here and not really sure where to even get started. Basically, I've been raising a child since birth. I've known the whole time I'm not the biological father but I love my daughter and would do anything for her.

Me and her mum have now separated. Do I have any rights regarding my child under family law? I'm not on the birth certificate or any documentation.

Yep - anyone who has had a meaningful relationship with a child can make a case to have that relationship continue... Look, the chances of some form of shared care like a boi dad? I would not bet on it. So what sort of arrangements are you after?

The best bit is this part of the law:

"Each parent’s ability (and that of any other person) to provide for the child’s needs."
