The executor/deceased partner want to claim that the deceased owed him money but this was not stated on the decease will.
Benificiaries by knowledge that there is a small amount involve but the executor/deceased partner claims almost 10 x more
How do the benificiaries stand?
Is this a strong case to get a lawyer?

Well, all he has to do is prove the amount of the debt.
Just saying so isn't enough.

How do the benificiaries stand?
You need to restrain this executor from doing anything, until the question is resolved.
Otherwise, he'll just steal the money.
Is this a strong case to get a lawyer?
Yes, and an urgent one.
You need case specific advice about the prospects of an injunction, about potential misconduct by the executor,
and about having them removed for conflict of interest.

You need this advice immediately, and no, it's not DIY.
