I have received an infringement notice in the mail for drunk and disorderly. At the time of the incident, I was not arrested or taken into custody, I was allowed to make my way home.

There are reasons I believe I could challenge this fine but I'm not sure if it is worth the court record.

In helping me to decide the action, what effect does this infringement have on my criminal record, national police check, ability to travel or future employment if do decide to pay?

Thanks

As it is not a finding of guilt at court, and an infringement notice, it won't appear on a criminal check if you just pay it.
