Basically I've been given a written warning that states I did something but I didn't actually do it. The incident came about because someone within the company reported me allegedly doing something but have no proof or evidence to which I could have.

What are my legal rights with regards to defamation as it's now making me look bad as an employee?

Thanks

Depends on what has been said and to whom.

There may be defamation but best to see a lawyer with all the details so they can work out the next steps.

It is hard for someone in a forum to give definitive opinion without seeing all the evidence. Recommend you see a lawyer if you are concerned.

Need to mindful that admin staff have a duty to act in the best interest of the company, and if they have an honest belief in something, that may be sufficient to prevent a successful defamation claim.
