Purchased a fridge on a Qld auction site. No reserve was stated on the site. I won the bid at $367. Now the auction site has stated they want $800 for the fridge. Is this legal under Australian Consumer Law?

The site was Lloyds auctioneers. I thought auctions were highest bidder wins unless a reserve is stated.

Did you win the auction (ie was the fridge sold to you)?

Or were you merely the highest bidder under the reserve price?

Read the T&Cs carefully to work out what has happened.

You need to check the site's terms and conditions and and have them explain why they are asking for more money.

Post back with the additional detail when you get it.
