I am due to be in mediation for a personal injury matter, and was wanting to know what the chances are of it being resolved on the day? I have been advised that I have a strong case.

It's been going on for the last 3 years, and I'm just wanting it to be over with.

Hi Jason
Without knowing the issues (ie is liability is dispute as well as quantum?), typically your most cost effective stage is to settle at mediation. In my experience, the majority of matters settle at mediation/compulsory conference stage (about 95%). For the 5% that don't settle at this stage, about 1% will make it to trial, the rest settle after pleadings have been filed in court and typically at a further mediation

Most personal injury cases don't go to court.
Whether your case settles on the day of mediation depends on the offer from the opposing lawyers and whether you decide that is an appropriate amount for the injury you sustained or not.
