Hi all,
This is my first question on these forums, and I thank you for reading and considering my question.
I think this is basicly asking for help regarding the current laws on how far free speech is protected or oppressed.
In private conversations, I am happy to make certain comments to friends and family that
might be considered inflammatory to some individuals or groups in the world, particularly
if the comment was made on social media for example. However, I am seriously worried
whether my offered opinion or observation might land me in legal hot water, and perhaps
it's just better to be thought a fool than to prove it once and for all.
My intent is not malicious, but more a point of clarity that I percieve others are either ignorant of,
or afraid to openly express.
How does one go about testing the legality of a statement, particularly if that statement is expressed on
a transmissable medium such as social media for example?
I am not particularly worried whether the world cancels me or not, because I am irrelevant anyway.
Perhaps in the context of this forum, I suspect some immunity from persecution exists if I make
the comment here, albeit in a non specific format, and that my learned friends here might
discern the context and magnitude of it's content?
"If the *(some illegal nationalistic symbol of historical origin) fits, then wear it."
Thanks in advance.
