Brisbane city council has decided it wants to do congestion management in our street. They are proving that they will remove parking on both sides of our street and use this section of road for a 2.5metre bike lane.
we have lived here for over 22 years with no issues. Now they have decided that a bike lane is more important than allowing residents and visitors to park on the street.
do we have any recourse or can they legally deceive this at any time

We are facing the same issue. What happened to you?

Not for a bike lane but to increase the turning lane allocations at the nearby traffic lights. The council seems to have sprouted eroneous data about traffic use in this area, that is problematic only occasionally at peak hour. All parking is to be removed that means outside several houses. There isn't exactly other parking nearby.

One gets the feeling their idea of community consultation is just to tell residents what they've decided as they rebuffed our 24-7 analysis of the area that would seem to be far more accurate than any passing data they've collected. Not sure there's any recourse?
