Brought a horse float from market place about two weeks ago had some rust on the sides seller said it's all been checked over and assessed and it's simply cosmetic that the float was safe and sound. Had it checked elsewhere and it's completely rusted in the main frame underneath the float to the point it's basically unrepairable, the guy who assessed it for me said do not put a horse in this float the floor with most likely collapse, Ive had a horse in the float this has deliberately caused a risk to our horses lives and ours.
(He's a cop I might add that also said take it unregistered because the cops aren't giving out fines at the moment)

I also called the guy they said assessed it and he had looked at it approximately 3-4years ago so they had lied about the time frame it was looked at.
Do we have any way to get our money back ? Can we take any action against these people?

They responded with they were strapped for cash and have spent the money now so they can't give us any money back, we are without our money and without a float. Also replying that they had said all they need to that we are not to contact either of them or come near their property.

Devastated to say the least that people like this exist.
