VIC Boarders Abandoned Property - What to Do?

I have a question about a boarder who my husband and I had for 12 months, whom then left to house sit parents he for 6 weeks then coming back. Some of his stuff is still in our property. He's been gone since September 2014. Some property has been collected but he keeps saying he'll come on a certain day to get rest but that day hasn't come yet as he never showed. Where do we stand in relation to the stuff thats still here?
