We are a new business and agreed to be featured in a catalogue for one of our suppliers, in which time we have had a price restructure on our products. So now the featured product has increased by $15.

Under Australian Consumer Law, can we sell our product at the new higher price, even if it it's being featured at lower price in catalogue?

Hi,

I think you could find yourself talking to Fair trading. The fact of the matter is you can always amend the pricing of your products, but if someone walks in with the catalogue and asks for the item at the advertised price you should honour the price. It's just my opinion but it could be viewed as misleading or deceptive practices.

That's why you put end dates or 'until stock runs out' in ads.
