I hired a man to chop down four trees and grind the stumps quoted at $1800. He chopped down one tree and was to return the next day. He never showed up and for the next week, I repeatedly called and sent text messages to him and all were unanswered, so I hired another man to finish the job quoted $1700, which he completed.
Now a month later, the original man has billed me for $220 for the work he did. Do I have to pay him under Australian Consumer Law as this takes the cost of the job to over $1900?
