A month ago I bought a second-hand car from a well-known local dealership. I paid the advertised price for it. I've driven it less than 300km and the engine light has started to come on! I've been told that the 1st cylinder is misfiring which may cost a decent amount to get fixed. I was not told of any issues with the car, was told it drives really well and serviced on the regular. I also asked them to fix the rear brake light which they did not do prior to me picking it up.
The car is over 7 years old & has driven more than 120,000kms - however, I was wondering whether I have any consumer protection of Australian Consumer Law rights regarding the condition that they sold the car to me in, without making me aware of any issues (or prior issues) that the car has had?
Thank you!!
